Events and meetings

M1: Mach mit - Kick off meeting

Our kick-off meeting was held on October 4th 2021.

It was supposed to take place in the city of our coordinating school, namely Neunkirchen, Germany.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our mobility a few weeks before and decided to organise our first meeting by video conference because of the pandemic.

The main purpose of this meeting was to discuss the 2021-2022 agenda, our next mobility to Poland and to dispatch the different topics to be discussed with our students during our exchanges and research on democracy.

M2: Poland - May 2022

As part of our project, we went to Poland from 16 to 20 May 2022.

The aim was to finally meet again after this long period of confinement and to present the results of the different workshops we had conducted during the year on the theme of democracy.

Our programme was quite full but very enriching as you can see below:

TUESDAY: Tour of the Polish school, presentations by pupils from all our participating schools on the theme of democracy, visit to the Auschwitz museum

WEDNESDAY: visit to the city of Krakow and its university

THURSDAY: visit to the Single Mother House in Klimontów hosting women and their children from Ukraine, classes with the Ukrainian children and the conference "Solidarity with Ukraine", visit to the Silesian Museum.

This trip allowed us to see the consequences of a cruel lack of democracy on the European territory at different moments of our contemporary history, the ravages it could cause on the population and made us aware of the importance of cherishing the democratic world in which we live.

M3: Teachers’ meeting in Neunkirchen, Germany - September 2022

To get the new school year off to a good start, the teachers of the partner teams decided to meet in Neunkirchen.

They discussed the various actions that the schools would carry out throughout the year in order to:

  • create a more democratic climate in their school and/or

  • raise awareness among their students of the importance and benefits of a democratic world.

They also had the chance to:

  • participate in an excellent workshop offered by KoSAAR on defusing conflicts (e.g. within a school) to give everyone a chance to express themselves and talk about their frustrations. Making your voice heard is democracy!

  • visit the city of Schengen in Luxembourg, the birthplace of the project known as the Schengen area, an agreement that allows citizens of its 22 member states to move freely without border controls.

  • visit the exhibition on the fall of the Roman Empire in Trier.

To conclude this trip, our German coordinator wanted to immortalise our project by engraving its name on a padlock and attaching it to the sculpture 'Ee Schlass fir Schengen'.

M4: Bucharest, Romania - April 2023

This year we will visit our Romanian partners in Bucharest to present the results of the workshops we have organised in our schools.

A lot of great activities and beautiful moments of friendship and collaboration are waiting for us!

We are looking forward to it!
